Coaching for teenagers, ages 13–17
Your teenager is not behind. They are uninstructed.
Arth teaches teenagers to regulate themselves and run their own life — so you can stop project-managing it.
This is not therapy. We work on regulation, responsibility and forward momentum — not diagnosis or treatment.
What parents bring us
Four different complaints. One thing underneath.
Parents rarely arrive with a general worry. They arrive with something specific — the phone that never leaves his hand, the studies he will not take seriously, the arguing about everything, the responsibility that never quite lands.
Four separate complaints. But go a little deeper into what actually happens at home, and the same thing tends to sit underneath all four.
Your teenager has not learned to take ownership of their own life. Not their decisions, not their work, not their responsibilities.
That changes the question. It stops being how do we correct this behaviour, and becomes how do we teach a teenager to hold the wheel — slowly, one thing at a time.
How anything changes
See. Choose. Practise. Own.
Four steps, in one order. Everything we do is practice inside them.
See
They notice what is actually happening, instead of reacting to it.
Choose
They realise a different choice was available, and name it.
Practise
They try, they get it wrong, they go again. This is the long part.
Own
They take responsibility for the outcome, good or otherwise.
Freedom is not the absence of responsibility. Responsibility is what makes more freedom possible — and it only ever runs in that order.
Where to start
Two ways in.
One-to-one coaching
Regular sessions with your teenager, and dedicated sessions with you. Built around whatever is actually stuck — regulation, motivation, friendships, decisions, or all four.
How it worksWorkshops
A short, self-contained session on one idea. Run several times a year.

You get to stop project-managing.
The point of this work is not a better-behaved teenager. It is a teenager who carries their own weight — which is the only thing that lets you put it down.
- You get your own sessions. Not a report on your child — a different way of handling the same house.
- We never break their confidence. What your teen says stays with them. That is the reason they say anything at all.
- We will tell you if this is not the right help. Some things need a qualified professional, and we say so plainly.
- Nothing is fixed in a fortnight. This is practice, and practice takes as long as it takes.

When your teenager gets home, ask nothing for ten minutes. Not how was school, not did you eat, nothing.
They have spent seven hours managing their face. Give them ten minutes, then ask whatever you were going to ask. Most parents tell us something shifts within a week.
Start with a conversation.
A short form, then a call. I read every one myself, and I will tell you honestly if I think Arth is not the right fit.
